Headed down to the IT show yesterday and got myself a new digital camera. yeah! after saving so much for the pass few months, finally reached my goal.



Gotten myself a new cybershot W50. set me back by $600+. haha.. So broke now.



The camera comes several free gifts such as memory stick, pouch, tripod stand, card holder, lcd protector and a cleaning kit.

The screen protector given to me was actually the wrong size. My camera comes with a 2.5 inch LCD, the screen protector however was meant for 2.0 inch LCD. haiz.. How careless of the sales person.

Sony W50 is a great camera. All the quality of the photos taken were not bad. The LCD screen is on of the clearest i had seen ( other than n1 of course). The auto focus is great too. Rarely misses the target, though it does happens when the area is dark or the object does nt stand out from the background.



The camera also has a macro function which allows it to take a photo of objects as close as 2cm.

What i really like about W50 is its fast start up time and minimum shutter lag. The camera is always ready for photo taking. The interval between the 1st shot and the 2nd shot, including auto preview time is less than 5 seconds long. Start up time was around 1 second and time taken to charge the flash is around 1 to 2 seconds. What a great difference from my old camera. haha.

The Battery had to be charge via an external charger. I though i could charge it through USB. Rather inconvenient cause that means that there has to be ample battery charge left to transfer photos to to the com.

My only complaint is that the playback button is a little too small for comfort.

While buying the camera yesterday, the sales persons tried to cheat me multiple times. haiz.. One guy quoted the wrong price to me while another told me that there arnt any additional gifts. BAD. And they even gave me the camera in the wrong colour and a wrong size for the LCD protector. Had to go all the way back to the convention hall to change the camera. Maybe the mistake is due to overwhelming crowd at the show yesterday.
